Nungari Gichuho

Nungari is a highly accomplished Communications Specialist with over 13 years of experience in events management, strategic communications, policy advocacy, and behaviour change management across Africa. Her expertise spans development sectors including climate change, sustainable agriculture, governance, education, gender, refugee protection, and digital entrepreneurship.

Jane is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Communication Studies with a focus on

Environmental Studies at United States International University-Africa (USIU-A). Her Thesis is on Social Behaviour Change Communication strategies used in Climate Smart Agriculture. She also holds an Executive MBA in Entrepreneurship from Strathmore Business School, a Bachelor of Education in Library Studies and English from Kenyatta University, and a Diploma in 3D Graphic Design and Multimedia.

Her professional journey includes working with leading international donors and organizations such as the World Bank, Mastercard Foundation, UNHCR, UN Women, GIZ, and the European Commission. Notably, she served as an International Communications Specialist on the World Bank-funded Somaliland Civil Service Strengthening Project II, where she led strategic planning, policy advocacy, change management, events management and public sector communications reform.

Jane has also supported high-profile events such as the Africa Climate Summit and AU Assembly, and acted as Assistant Rapporteur for the Mastercard Foundation’s Kenya Program Convening. Her previous roles include Communications Manager at Digital Divide Data and Communications Officer at eKitabu LLC, where she managed digital campaigns, built stakeholder partnerships, and strengthened brand visibility through multimedia content and data-driven storytelling.

Her core competencies include Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC), digital marketing, stakeholder engagement, knowledge management, strategic planning, and monitoring & evaluation. She is a certified Trainer of Trainers under the ITC-ILO and Microsoft Philanthropies, and an alumna of climate and green entrepreneurship programs such as Women4Climate and the Green Tech Business Program.
