Our Thematic Areas

Our work centers on climate mobility, refugee & migration policies, as well as mapping the nexus between conflict & fragility.

Climate Mobility

We collaborate with researchers, climate innovation & application labs, local communities, CSOs, cities & governments to advocate and advance locally-led, community-based solutions for displaced & climate vulnerable populations.

Refugee & Migration Policies

Our work in this area seeks to advance the integration of migrants into the labour market, promote data driven policy options, build on and complement existing gains, while addressing the specific needs & vulnerabilities of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.

Conflict & Fragility

We collaborate with diverse actors to better map how conflicts impact on situations of forced displacement to ensure that our partners’ policies, practices and solutions on the ground are evidence-based and effectively implemented

At the East African Centre for Forced Migration & Displacement (EACFMD), we are committed to advancing inclusive policies and practices that address the complex realities of climate mobility, forced displacement, conflict & fragility in the East, Horn & Southern Africa.
